Among dragons and dragqueens is the show where some of Sweden's most famous drag artists perform fairy tales for children.
The concept has toured around Sweden since 2017, been on a guest visit all the way to the Brooklyn Library in New York and is now coming to Åland this autumn!
Children learn gender roles early. In the fairy tales they read about cute helpless princesses and strong brave princes. At the same time, the demand for norm-creative children's culture is increasing. The director and writer Petter Wallenberg has created "Among dragons and dragqueens" where several of Sweden's most recognized drag artists perform fairy tales for children. All artists are established actors and educators and every saga is packed with elements that invite play, engage and broaden the world. In Åland, the children will get to dive into the world of fairy tales together with artists Robert Fux and Henrik Johansson.
