NIPÅ Gallery has extended opening days for the popular Icons – An Exhibition about the Right to Exist!

Our current exhibition Icons has attracted many visitors. We are happy to announce that the exhibition duration has been legnthen with a week.  Now you can visit the exhibition until the 29th of May (NIPÅ Gallery, Köpmansgatan 4). NIPÅ Gallery is open during the weekdays between 13-16.

Icons – An Exhibition about the Right to Exist! features portraits of famous icons and archetypes where we all can find someone or something to relate to. It consist of 21 unique, beautiful and magnificent images, which is hoped to have the potential to change people’s minds and allow the models throughout the pictures have their place in art, society and history. The 21 models have several things in common; dreams, feelings and Down's syndrome.

The exhibition premiered for the first time March 21st, 2016, on the World Down Syndrom Day in Fotografiska Museum, Stockholm. The date pointed at Down's syndrome have three copies of chromosome No. 21 instead of two.

The exhibition is a collaboration of FotografiskaGlada Hudik-teatern, photographer Emma Svensson and costume designers Linda Sandberg and Helena Andersson and Aftonbladet.
