Bjargey Ólafsdóttir, a photographer from Iceland, spent some time in June 2019 on Åland, Källskär. Bjargey applied for mobility support from Nordic Cultural Contact to be able to realize his trip to and stay on Åland. 

March 31st is the deadline for the next application round for this grant program. So if you are planning projects within the art and culturefield, that includes travel to and from Åland, please read more about this grant programme. It's relatively easy to apply.

” – I was fortunate to receieve a Mobility grant for my amazing stay at Källskär in  Åland in June 2019. The grant enabled me to travel all the way from my volcanic island Iceland, that is now on fire again to Helsinki and from there to the  enigmatic island Källskär. Källskär is a beautiful gem in the Åland islands and there I enjoyed quiet time that I used to write, draw and photograph and enjoy long walks and swimming in the sea. I would love to come back one day to Åland once the pandemic is over and we can all travel again. The Mobiliy grant is a fabulous grant that enables artists to travel and to meet other artists and work on the art in different surroundings.” säger Bjargey Ólafsdóttir.
