Student opera "The Animal Planet" to your school?

Publicerad Monday 24 February kl 16:15

The Nordic Institute collaborates with Finland's National Opera and Ballet and offers Finland's first school opera in Swedish for up to three schools on Åland!

In the school opera "The Animal Planet", students in grades 3-6 get acquainted with opera by participating in and putting together a performance together with professionals from the opera world.

"The Animal Planet", compiled by Cecilia Damström and written by Monica Vikström-Jokela, is based on a workshop conducted in 2018 with students from Åshöjdens school in Helsinki. The maintheme of the opera is man's relationship to animals and how we all have the right to live on this planet. It asks how much we can decide about the lives of others and what we humans could learn from the animals.
