The Nordic institute on Åland (NIPÅ) is now working intensively to develop digital and creative cultural solutions that work and make sense in Corona times. Solutions that also support cultural practitioners who are hit harsh by the Corona crisis with canceled events and concerts. That is why we are now are presenting a serie of digital Friday concerts that everyone can enjoy, streamed in our live broadcast channel; nipalive.ax

The first Friday concert is a broadcast of a concert made in 2017, with one of the Nordic region's perhaps most prominent jazz vocalists; Sinne Eeg from Denmark. Her distinct vocals, sense of improvisation and strong original compositions have given her a growing fanbase around the world. With several award-winning studio albums in her luggage, she has toured in Europe, the United States and Asia. And the concert that is well worth seeing again. 

This concept with digital friday concerts means that we at NIPÅ can offer culture out in the homes, at a time when we all need it most, even though we cannot meet physically. The concept means that NIPÅ stands for technology, filming, livestreaming, communication and a fee for participating artists.

ABOUT Sinne Eeg

Sinne has grown up in a musical family in the Danish countryside and started singing as a four year old. At 16 years old, Sinne decided to invest in music 100%, she started on a preparatory music line and then on to the Royal Danish Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. Sinn has received several awards, such as four Vocal Jazz Album of the Year / Danish Music Awards, DR P2 Jazz Prize and Ben Webster Award - as the first female vocalist in the award's 30-year history.
