Det gror i Nord, konsert. Nordens Institut på Åland

Kom med - Det gror i Nord!

NIPÅ invites students in Åland to explore their own thoughts about the Nordic countries in the creative project "Det gror i Nord" that visits Åland May 13th - 16th.

During two intensive days of workshops, students under the guidance of four professional artists and musicians will express and explore their inner images about the Nordic region through image, text and music. The days end with an exhibition and concert.

The project visits Geta school 13-14 May and Källbo school 15-16 May.

About the project

It grows in the North is an initiative of musicians and visual artist Lone Wernblad from Denmark. The project's starting point has been to create a teaching process in the form of a workshop that explores the identity, culture and history of the Nordic countries through creative learning processes.

In 2018 and 2019, the project visits schools in the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Norway, Åland and Denmark. The goal is to, after the visits in the different countries, compile the knowledge the project has collected and build up a teaching material that can be used throughout the Nordic region.

The workshops are led by:

Lone Wernblad (musician, artist, mediator and initiator)
Benjamin Aggerbaek (musician, composer and songwriter)
Jonas Bachmann (artist)
Bergur Fonsdal (musician)
