The Finnish Cultural and Science Institute who operates in many countries, now opens a new application to tackle the challenges of the cultural industry as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The focus is on Finnish artists and groups of artists. The aim of the project is to enable artists' income and continued international collaboration. Although mobility and physical meetings now are limited, they want to emphasize the importance of international cooperation and networks. A major concern is that the spread of the epidemic may lead to a reduction in international cooperation.

With the help of the Together Alone project, the institute wants to encourage artists to consider how to maintain mobility and collaboration in situations where physical encounters are no longer possible. The project is specifically aimed at artistic projects that support international collaboration without physical contact.

The institutes are looking for artistic projects related to the following themes: state of emergency, radical change, resilience, artistic work in the future and alone together. At the same time, the project is a documentation of the state of emergency in society and how the global crisis is reflected in the arts. The project is open to all Finnish or professional artists living in Finland whose calendars have been emptied due to the pandemic.
